Unfortunately, at this stage, we are unable to give a dates for either a work-around or a complete solution. Surely, they knew that the update would break all USB external monitor displays. May 8, 3: It’s hard to be an advocate for their products when they treat customers like this. Some people are still waiting for the sequel. If so what is it? Unless, DisplayLink can find a work around, which they most likely would have released a beta after 3 months, don’t plan on any solution for at least months from Apple. This is the last straw for me.
May 7, 3: They’re so focused on making a sale they’re ignoring supporting their current users. I might add that I gave Kensington an ear full too. I don’t know how many people are affected by this issue, but I would suspect it is a relatively small amount compared to the Bluetooth issue based on the number of people on this thread. Apple should have a warning that some USB interfaces break with their latest update and fisplaylink now they should know, given the number of people having problems ; and don’t update for a few months after the release.
Mac OS X Speciality level out of ten: Now it has been over 2 months with no external monitors displayllnk this issue and no fix available. You might as well just throw the DisplayLink hardware away and get something else if you need it soon. I know that I was registered and never received any notification not to install it.

Apr 13, 7: It really was not addressed until we started complaining to news and media and they started writing about it on a weekly basis before it was resolved.
Windows alerts you to possible hardware conflicts on update so why not Mac? Apple kept telling me that I need to contact the manufacturer. Ask a question Reset. Speaking from experience regarding Bluetooth issues and the iOS 10 release, it took 6 months before this issue was resolved and there were 10’s of thousands, if not millions, of people affected by this. A new OS is out and this issue still isn’t fixed. They tried every trick in the book to get things to work.
It would have really been great to have an alert when installing the new OS update that told you “A device you are using is not compatible with this update, do you want to continue? Obviously, the update caused the issue, however, it is not clear to me exactly why the external USB display adapters don’t work any more. CyberEnt raised two good ideas: We will, however, update you as soon as we have further information to share.
None of them seem to want to do anything about the problem.
